The extending ladder comprises a left stile (1), right stile (2) which disposed oppositely and a plurality of rungs (3) which extends between the left (1) stile and the right stile (2), the left stile (1) and right stile (2) are respectively formed of telescopically collapsible left columns (11) and right columns (12) which are disposed orderly in a nested arrangement for relative lengthwise movement in a telescopic fashion, a left latch mechanism (4) and right latch (5) are disposed in each rung (3). A left button (6) and a right button (7) are disposed closely with each other in the middle of the corresponding rung (3), so as to make two buttons be operated conveniently by single hand to make the rung (3) released from the corresponding column.
