PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for checking status among distributed Internet protocol private branch exchange systems using an IP phone is provided to check an operating state between distributed Internet PBX systems by using plural IP phones connected to IP PBXs. CONSTITUTION: IP phones(111-113) update the state information of previously stored plural IP PBXs according to the judgment state. The IP PBXs analyze a state confirmation request message received from the IP phones. The IP PBXs judges the states of the other IP PBXs. The IP PBXs update the state information of the other IP PBXs.
