STAY IN AUTOMOTIVE BUMPER SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A stay unit for a vehicle is provided to improve impact absorption capacity when a front stay is crumpled into the inside of a rear stay in a head-on collision. CONSTITUTION: A stay unit(1) for a vehicle comprises a stay plate(11), and rear and front stays(13,15). The inner and outer panels(13a,13b) of the rear stay are overlapped with each other. The rear end of the rear stay is welded with the stay plate. The front flange(F1) is bent from the front end of the inner and outer panels to the outside. The inner and outer panels(15a,15b) of the front stay are overlapped with each other. The front end of the front stay is welded with the bumper beam. A rear flange(F2) is bent from the rear end of the inner and outer panels to the outside. The rear flange is welded with the front flange.
