PURPOSE: A microwave oven having a hood is provided to enable the cooling of a less-heat radiating part to be independent from a much-heat radiating part since a heating source can be cooled more efficiently. CONSTITUTION: A microwave oven having a hood comprises a heater, a heater cover, a front plate(110), a base plate(160) and a vent fan assembly(196). The microwave oven further comprises an air discharge path(P8). The heater is installed on the top of a cavity, in which a cooking chamber(101) is formed. The heater generates heat, which is supplied to the inside of the cooking chamber. The heater cover shields the heater. The front plate forms the front side of the cavity. The air discharge unit, through which pollutant containing air is discharged to the indoor space, is formed on the front plate. The base plate is installed on the lower of the cavity. An air intake unit(161), which sucks the pollutant containing air, is formed on the base plate.
