PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to prevent the scratching of an insulating case and insertion failure by inducing the centered insertion of the insulating case. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises: a can(10) which houses an electrode assembly(12) and of which one side thereof is opened; a cap assembly(20) for sealing the opened part of the can; and an insulating case(70) which is located between the electrode assembly and inserted into the upper part of the can. The secondary battery further includes an insert guide(71) which protrudes in an outer side(75) of the insulating case and in which the lower part toward the can is tilted at a constant angle from the insulating case.
