CRASH BOX IN AUTOMOTIVE BUMPER SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A crash box for a vehicle is provided to improve impact absorption capacity by the stable guide of the directivity of collapse since a front box is inserted into the inside of a rear box in collapse. CONSTITUTION: A crash box for a vehicle comprises a center plate(15), and front and rear boxes(17,19). A bead is formed on the cross section of the center plate. The center plate is placed between the front and back plates. An interior panel(P1) and an exterior panel(P2) are overlapped with each other between a central plate and a front plate(11). The front box is fixed into a box shape. The interior and exterior panels are overlapped and welded with each other between the center and back plates. The rear box is fixed into a box shape.
