[Also in Group XVII] An apparatus for inserting bags in boxes (see Group XVII) comprises two conveyers 5, 40 bringing the boxes to beneath the bag inserting device. A continuously moving belt 40 positions each carton against a stop 41 from which it is dislodged by a reciprocating pusher 43 for reception between plates 30a on the conveyer 5. The conveyer 5 is intermittently moved by a connecting rod 20 oscillating a free-wheel device 22 connected to the conveyer driving sprocket 7. The articles are held in the conveyer pockets by rails 33 carried on spring posts (not shown) and the conveyer links slide against rails 37 to prevent inward sagging. The conveyer sprocket 8 is spring loaded to tension the links. |
