[Also in Division F2] In a diaphragm fuel pump actuated by pulsations transmitted through a bore 52 from the engine crank-case and forming part of a carburetter, the inlet and outlet non-return valves are identical in construction and each comprise a pair of sheet metal stampings 53 and 72 and a spring-loaded flexible disc (83), Fig.4 (not shown), controlling an annular series of openings 67 in member 53. A pulse damping chamber 103 is defined between the diaphragm 47 and the carburetter body 3. The pump draws fuel from a tank T and supplies it to main jet 41 and idling jet (43), Fig.3 (not shown), under the control of a valve 31 actuated by a diaphragm 35 fixed to a backing plate provided with a button 37.</p> |
