PURPOSE: A double ellipse type vane pump is provided to ensure improved pumping efficiency because the outer side of a vane comes in complete contact with the interior of a pump housing. CONSTITUTION: A double ellipse type vane pump comprises a pump housing(14), a rotor(16), a vane(17), stoppers(18,19), and end plates(27,28). The pump housing comprises a fluid inlet(11), a fluid outlet, and a working chamber(13) having an elliptical interior. The rotor is eccentrically installed in the working chamber of the pump housing and allowed to rotate forwardly or reversely, and the rotor has a vane groove(15). The vane is coupled to slide in the vane groove, and the leading end of the vane comes in sliding-contact with the interior of the working chamber when the rotor rotates. The stoppers are fixed to the right and left sides of the rotor and prevent the vane from moving in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction. The end plates are installed on the right and left sides of the working chamber of the pump housing and support the rotor to rotate. |
