The gas centrifuge has an integrated drive motor and an adapted sealing. The stator (14) of a synchronous motor is flange connected directly on the upper cover (24) of a centrifuge housing. The synchronous motor rotor is fastened directly on the upper covering of the gas centrifuge rotor (1). The centering of the synchronous motor rotor is warranted through the axle box arrangement of a rotational axis (2). The sealing of the synchronous motor (10) takes place by a cylinder (16) made up of insulating material, particularly glass-fiber reinforced plastic.
