<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve availability of a system by not only detecting abnormality of a resolver or a magnetoresistive element but also judging whether or not the influence of the abnormality on the system is serious. <P>SOLUTION: The rotation angle sensor abnormality detector includes a magnetic field sensor 201 and a microcomputer 10. The magnetic field sensor 201 detects a change in magnetic field caused by rotation of a rotary shaft, and outputs signals according to the sine and cosine of a rotation angle of the rotary shaft, respectively. The microcomputer 10 performs determination of a Lissajous trajectory amplitude 121 and determination of a Lissajous trajectory quadrant 122 in an error detection function 12, and thereby detects abnormality of the magnetic field sensor 201 based on the Lissajous waveform of each signal output from the magnetic field sensor 201. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
