COLOR FILTER SUBSTRATE HAVING BIAXIAL OPTICALLY ANISOTROPIC LAYER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter substrate capable of alleviating color shift in a tilted viewing angle particularly in a vertical alignment (VA) mode liquid crystal display device with a simple constitution.

SOLUTION: The color filter substrate includes a color filter layer and an optically anisotropic layer on a substrate. The birefringent anisotropy of the optically anisotropic layer is biaxial and can have uniform composition and film thickness in all areas.
