PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum switch 70 which can achieve reduction in electric loss and improvement in heat transmission performance by preventing a gap from being generated between an electrode and a conductor rod 1 and preventing positional displacement between the electrode and the conductor rod 1.

SOLUTION: The electrode for a switch includes the conductor rod 1, a contact electrode 2 inserted to the conductor rod 1, and a coupling plate 3 provided on the radially outside of the conductor rod 1 and the contact electrode 2 to fix the both the conductor rod 1 and the contact electrode 2, whereby both the elements are fixed.
