PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edible skin protective cosmetic such as hand cream etc., which has high safety even in oral intake in the body by constitution of only of food and/or a food additive, has excellent skin protective effect, is unlimitedly tasteless and odorless, has excellent spread, no sticky feeling, almost no adhesion to a material even when a hand coated with the cosmetic is contacted with the material and excellent sense of use. SOLUTION: The edible skin protective cosmetic that is constituted only of edible components and includes following components (A)-(C) as essential components is used: (A) 0.60-1.20 wt.% ofι(iota) type carrageenan, (B) 0.50-2.00 wt.% of a polyglycerol fatty acid ester that has an HLB value of≥12 and is a food additive and (C) 8.0-20.0 wt.% of a vegetable edible oil and/or an oily component composed of a food additive.
