The device has a driveway sill (1) supported in a support opening of a driveway in an oscillating manner. The driveway sill is maintained with increased speed than predetermined speed of the driveway sill. The driveway sill comprises a displacement body (2) at a lower side of the driveway sill. The displacement body is plunged into a displacement space that is filled with fluid and is attached to a support (3). The support is connected with chambers (5) for the displaced fluid by passage openings (5). A cross-section of the passage openings determines lowering speed.
