The profile (1) has a base area (2) and side areas (3, 4) forming a U-shaped retainer for edge area of a frameless, laminar glass element (10). Adhesive channels (5-7) are formed in the base area and in the side areas of the profile and are limited by a front surface (11) and side surfaces (12) of the glass element. Adhesive is accommodated in punctiform areas, and fixes the glass element at the profile. The adhesive forms three adhesive points spaced from one another. The adhesive comprises single-component adhesive made of solvent-free, isocyanate-free modified polymer.
