An organic electroluminescent element, in which an organic layer is arranged between an anode and a cathode, wherein the organic layer comprises at least a light-emitting layer composed of at least one layer and a cathode-side adjacent layer that is arranged adjacent to the cathode side of the light-emitting layer, and wherein the cathode-side adjacent layer has a lower triplet energy than that of a light-emitting material contained in the light-emitting layer.
