摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode electrode catalyst for a fuel cell, which is high in catalytic activity and excellent in corrosion resistance, and to provide the fuel cell using the same. SOLUTION: The electrode catalyst consists of an alloy which contains at least one platinum group element and at least one element selected from a group consisting of B, C, Be, Si, P, S, Ga, As and Se, and the crystalline structure of which is amorphous. The alloy is produced by a rapid cooling method, atomizing method, mechanical alloying method, sputtering method, electrolytic deposition method and reductive deposition method.
