PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for a rotating electric machine, which is cooled without causing the difference in temperature of a permanent magnet, preventing a coolant from remaining, and reducing the influence of a rotating reactive force from the coolant. SOLUTION: The rotor R for the rotating electric machine has: a cylindrical rotor core RC formed by laminating a plurality of disk-like plate members, and a rotor shaft body 10 fixed so as to integrally rotate with the rotor core RC. The rotor R further has: a coolant circulating space R1 for circulating a supplied coolant; a cooling inner circumferential plane CP formed by exposing the inner circumferential surface of the rotor core RC to the coolant circulating space R1 over the entire of the rotor circumferential direction; a flowing direction regulating member 11 for regulating a flow direction so that a component toward the rotor shaft direction is imparted to the coolant flow which is generated by the rotation of the rotor core RC and follows the cooling inner circumferential plane CP; and a coolant discharging port 12 for discharging the coolant from the coolant circulating space R1 to the outside of the rotor diameter direction.
