PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-shrinkable polyester film which has excellent shrink characteristics in a wide temperature range of from high temperatures to low temperatures, particularly in a low temperature range and extremely reduces generation of a shrinkage spot, a crease, a distortion, and a vertical sink mark, and further is suitable in the use of labels having excellent breakage resistance. SOLUTION: The heat-shrinkable polyester film is composed of a polyester, and has a tanδvalue of the dynamic viscoelasticity at 65°C to the major shrinkage direction of≥0.15, a temperature, at which the tanδvalue reaches a maximum, of≥65°C to≤100°C and its tanδmaximum value of≥0.40, a heat shrinkage in the major shrinkage direction after the treatment in hot water at 80°C for 10 seconds of≥30%, and a thickness of 10-200μm.
