PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gelling agent for a silicone oil, exhibiting excellent thickening and gelling ability in the silicone oil, having good high-temperature stability, and hardly damaging functionality, and to provide a skin cosmetic, a makeup cosmetic, a hair cosmetic and a lip cosmetic, obtained by formulating the gelling agent. SOLUTION: The gelling agent for the silicone oil is an esterification reaction product of the following components (1) and (2) regulated so that the amount of the component (2) may be≥(n+2)×0.5 mol based on 1.0 mol of the component (1): component (1): an alkylene oxide compound obtained by adding≥(n+2)×0.1 and <3.0 mol of a 2-4C alkylene oxide, to 1.0 mol of glycerol and/or a polyglycerol having 2-15 of an average polymerization degree n calculated from a hydroxy value; and component (2): 8-22C fatty acids containing≥0.7 mol of 18-22C linear saturated fatty acids in 1.0 mol thereof.
