PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save electric power by carrying works following a carrying order without causing the interference of the works with each other. SOLUTION: This work carrying device 1 continuously performs a work input step of carrying a first work W1 to a second carrier conveyor 12 by driving the second carrier conveyor 12 when a first sensor 21 detects the first work W1 and stopping a first carrier conveyor 11 and the second carrier conveyor 12 when a second sensor 22 detects the first work W1 thereafter, and a pitch feeding step of carrying a second work W2 by driving the first carrier conveyor 11, carrying the second work W2 to the second carrier conveyor 12 by driving the second carrier conveyor 12 when the first sensor 21 detects the second work W2 and retaining the first work W1 and the second work W2 on the second carrier conveyor 12 by separating the works by a predetermined separation quantity.
