The invention describes an apparatus for adhesively bonding pieces of material (1) onto parts of bags (2) or sacks, comprising: a supply device, by means of which joined-together pieces of material can be supplied, a separating device, by means of which individual pieces of material can be supplied, a first transporting cylinder, by means of which separated pieces of material can be transported further, and an adhesive-applying device (19), by means of which adhesive can be applied onto a respective piece of material, characterized in that a second transporting cylinder (6) is provided, it being possible for this second transporting cylinder to receive the pieces of material from the first transporting cylinder and to apply the pieces of material to the parts of the bags (2) or sacks, and in that the adhesive-applying device (19) interacts with the second transporting cylinder (6), and therefore adhesive can be applied to the piece of material when the latter is located on the second transporting cylinder (6).
