The invention relates to means for sealing material devices, specifically measuring instruments. The indicator seal comprises a transparent body made of high-strength plastic, a core, a catch and a flexible element. The body has a cylindrical cavity for accommodating the core, a cavity for accommodating the catch and coaxial openings for the flexible element. The cavities communicate by means of a through groove. The core has a detachable handle, openings and dogs. The core is mounted in such a way as to be capable of rotating in one direction. The core openings are coaxial with the body openings. Part of the core is in the form of a crosspiece. The dogs make contact with longitudinal ribs in the cylindrical cavity. The catch has a transport position and a locking position. Spring elements which make contact with locking ribs are formed on the flanks of the catch. The catch has a projection. In the locking position, the projection bears against the crosspiece. An increase in the reliability and degree of protection of the seal is achieved.
