DRIVER FOR PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL HAVING PORTECTION FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A driver for plasma display panel having a protection function is provided to reduce manufacturing costs by suppressing the usage of a photo coupler transmitting the detection signal of the AC power source and power factor compensation power source. CONSTITUTION: In a driver for plasma display panel having a protection function, a power conversion unit(110) filters and rectifies commercial AC power source and converts it into DC power source. A main power source(120) converts the DC power of the power conversion unit into a predetermined driving power. A standby power supply unit(130) converts the filtered power of the power conversion unit into a predetermined operation power. A protection unit(140) receives a detection signal of the voltage level of the commercial AC power from outside and transmits a protection signal when the commercial power is abnormal. A transmission unit(150) transfers the protection signal from the protection unit.
