<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet folding device in which a folding mechanism for folding a sheet is provided with a simple structure to prevent misalignment of a folded position, crinkles, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet folding device includes: a convey path for guiding a sheet to a predetermined folding position from a carry-in port; a folding roll for forming a first nip portion for primarily folding the sheet and a second nip portion for secondarily folding the sheet; a fed sheet conveying means for conveying the sheet to the first nip portion; an ejected sheet conveying means for conveying the folded sheet to a carry-out port from the second nip portion; a roll driving means for rotating the folded roll; a folding deviation member for inserting a folding line of the sheet on the first nip portion and the second nip portion; a shifting means for shifting the deviation member between an evacuation position and an actuation position; and its control means. The control means guides an end of the folded sheet to the second nip portion while a driven roller provided on the deviation member is brought in pressure-contact with the circumferential surface of the folded roll for doubling the sheet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
