<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a closure component suitable for use in an absorptive article such as a diaper. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes steps of (a) providing a fastening portion 2 comprising fastening means 3, (b) providing a continuous web 1 of a material in a machine direction, (c) joining the fastening portion 2 in the machine direction to the inner and/or outer major surfaces 1a, 1b of the web 1 so that the fastening means 3 are exposed, (d) applying at lease two cuts 4, 4' to the web 1 to provide at least two flaps 5 each having a top edge 5a and a baseline 5b, (e) folding over the flaps 5 onto the web 1 in a direction from their top edges 5a to their baseline 5b substantially along the baseline 5b so that the fastening means 3 are releasably engaged with the corresponding surface of the web 1, and (f) applying further cuts 4', 4" to the web 1 to manufacture individual closure components 7 comprising the flaps 5 in a folded position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
