<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter for preventing system down caused by Brillouin scattering. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmitter 13 is incorporated in an optical transmission system that converts an electrical signal into an optical signal to transmit it through an optical fiber line. The optical transmitter 13 includes: an exciting laser 69 which excites an optical signal configured as an optical amplifier 60 for amplifying an optical signal; and an amplification control section 74 for acquiring a first optical signal and a second optical signal different from the first optical signal, the first and second optical signals being transmitted in the optical transmission system, and controlling the exciting laser 69 based on a level of the first optical signal and a level of the second optical signal acquired, to control the level of an optical signal into so as not to incur Brillouin scattering caused when the optical signal is input to the optical fiber line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
