<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: if polishing processing is applied to red, blue and green coloring pixel surfaces in order to reduce a rugged level difference on a color filter substrate, scratchers are caused on the pixel surface, so that light leakage is caused along the scratches when a liquid crystal display device is manufactured, and especially this tendency is increased when an amount of polishing is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter substrate is equipped with a black matrix and coloring pixels formed with a shape of stripes on a substrate, wherein the coloring pixels have recessed portions, or when an overcoat layer is provided on the coloring pixels, the overcoat layer has recessed portions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
