PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file open system for displaying and reproducing even a file whose openable application or the like is unclear by the simple operation of a user. SOLUTION: The file open system includes a file open server 100 for displaying and reproducing an uploaded file 201 and presenting it to a Web browser 210. The file open server 100 includes: an extension table 101 for storing a means for opening a file and/or information showing the format of conversion destination for each extension; a determination part 120 for determining whether the file 201 can be opened by referring to the extension table 101 based on the extension of the file 201; a conversion part 130 for converting the format of the file 201 into the format of the conversion destination registered in the extension table 101; and a file open part 140 for displaying and reproducing the file 201 by the means registered in the extension table 101 and presenting it to the Web browser 210.
