PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator with an accelerating function accelerating extension and contraction of an operation rod. SOLUTION: The actuator with an accelerating function is composed of the operation cylinder (1) reducing a cross-sectional area of an operation bottom side section (11) for just a portion of a volume reduction rod (111) inserted into an operation rod (14); a reverse cylinder (2) equalizing supply/exhaust ratios of oil of a reverse bottom side section (21) and a reverse rod side section (22) with a cross-sectional area ratio of the operation bottom side section (11) and an operation rod side section (12); and an extension switching valve (3) switching between a non-load extension path (32) communicating the operation bottom side section (11) with the reverse bottom side section (21) during non-load extension of the operation rod (14), and a non-load extension path (33) communicating a pump with the operation bottom side section (11) and communicating a tank with the reverse bottom side section (21) during the non-load extension of the operation rod (14).
