PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for producing a corresponding aromatic nitro compound by nitrating an aromatic compound without using an acid as a nitration agent. SOLUTION: A production method of the aromatic nitro compound includes a process for bringing the aromatic compound that is supported by a carrier consisting of soil particles into contact with nitrogen dioxide to obtain the aromatic nitro compound.
