A sunlight collection system is provided with: a reflecting mirror that is provided on the surface of the ground and reflects sunlight; a light receiving means that is disposed above the surface of the ground and has an incident portion on which the sunlight reflected by the reflecting mirror is incident; light amount sensors which are provided in at least two locations facing each other at the outer edge of the incident portion of the light receiving means; a rotation mechanism which enables the reflecting mirror to rotate around at least one shaft; and a direction control unit which acquires light amounts detected respectively by the light amount sensors facing each other while rotating the reflecting mirror by driving the rotation mechanism, and adjusts the angle of the reflecting mirror on the basis of the light amounts.
