PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of a passenger conveyor, correctly detecting the congestion of the passenger conveyor. SOLUTION: Passenger detectors 5, 6 are respectively provided on both entrances 1a, 1b at starting and terminating ends of an escalator 1 as a passenger conveyor, and the number of passengers on the escalator 1 is counted by subtracting the number of passengers detected by one passenger detector from the number of passengers detected by the other passenger detector provided on the starting end side in the operating direction of the escalator 1 out of the passenger detectors 5, 6. When the counted number of passengers is larger than the predetermined set value, an alarm is given to the passengers by speakers 7a, 7b and indicators 8a, 8b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
