PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out printing by specifying an optional area on a Web page by easy and intuitive operation.

SOLUTION: A printer includes: an image data converting part 141 for converting a Web page into bit-map-converted image data; a display control unit 144 for displaying an image of the converted image data at a display device 120; an area decision unit 145 for determining a specified area corresponding to an optional area in the converted image data on the basis of specifying input specifying the optional area on the displayed image of the image data; an image data extracting part 142 for extracting the image data of the determined specified area from the converted image data; and a printing data generation unit 143 for output of printing data based upon the extracted image data of the specified area.
