PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the verification and authentication of an ID in addition to the supply of electric power by a solar panel. SOLUTION: This authentication system 3 utilizes the solar panel 11a of a double-layered structure in which two cells 11a1 and 11a2 different in absorption wavelength overlap each other in a thickness direction; one of the two cells is used as an electrical production source; and the other cell is used as a signal source for verification. A charging circuit 11b is charged with a photoelectromotive force generated along with light absorption by the one cell serving as the electrical production source. A photoelectromotive force generated along with light absorption by the other cell serving as the signal source for verification is detected as a verification signal for an ID pattern by a signal detection circuit 11c. A controller 12, to which the photoelectromotive force charged by the charging circuit 11b is supplied as electric power, collates the verification signal, which is detected by the signal detection circuit 11c, with a preset verification ID, and controls the opening and shutting of an electric lock 4 on the basis of the result of collation.
