PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve delay of controlling behavior of an own vehicle without excessive costs in a vehicle controller for controlling the behavior of an own vehicle to maintain an inter-vehicle distance between an immediately preceding vehicle traveling immediately in front of the own vehicle and the own vehicle constant when the own vehicle travels in line. SOLUTION: The vehicle controller obtains travel information of immediately preceding vehicle transmitted by the immediately preceding vehicle and indicating information regarding travel of the immediately preceding vehicle and obtains own vehicle travel information indicating information regarding travel of the own vehicle from the own vehicle (S210); respectively calculates movement distance per unit time in the immediately preceding vehicle and the own vehicle, and calculates difference between respective movement distances (S220, S230) based on the immediately preceding vehicle travel information and the own vehicle travel information; and detects difference between the inter-vehicle distance from the own vehicle to the immediately preceding vehicle and an inter-vehicle reference value based on the calculated difference of respective movement distances (S270, S280), and accelerates and decelerates the own vehicle to suppress the difference (S290).
