PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for developing electrostatic charge images, which copes with a low-temperature fixing system while maintaining cleaning performance and has good offset resistance and does not pollute a fixing member and images and has a sharp charge distribution and is capable of forming visible images of high sharpness for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The toner is obtained by granulating toner particles while emulsifying and dispersing, in an aqueous medium, an oil phase where a toner material containing at least a binder component including a crystalline polyester resin is dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent and by removing the solvent. The binder component contains at least one of a binder resin and a binder resin precursor, and the toner particles are approximately spindle-shaped and have a shape factor SF-1 of 140 to 180.
