PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing pressure controller in a portable label printing and applying machine which simply adjusts a printing pressure of a printer onto a continuum 10 of labels without changing a relative positional relation of main components such as the printer, a print receiving base 41, and a label presser 26, and keeps a printing quality, conveyance performance and peeling performance at predetermined levels. SOLUTION: The printing pressure controller of the portable label printing and applying machine has: a conveyance part bringing a print receiving surface 42 of the print receiving base 41 closer toward a printer to carry the continuum 10 of labels while slightly bent, and carrying the continuum 10 of labels while focusing on reinforcement of the printing pressure to reserve a blur margin of a printed character; a printing part including the printer, the print receiving base 41 and the label presser 26 for printing; and a peeling part for peeling a label piece from a mount of the continuum 10 of labels. The print receiving surface 42 located on the upper surface of the print receiving base 41 of the printing part is made to protrude toward the center opened part 33 of the label presser 26.
