<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly precise error detection on the data transmission route in a printer in a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 1 includes a print head 30 having a plurality of nozzles 51 for forming dots on a print medium and a shift register 71 for storing print data that determines formation/non-formation of dots by the nozzles 51, a control unit 10 which generates the print data and transmits the print data to the shift register 71, cables 61 and 62 which connect the shift register 71 with the control unit 10, and a controller 11 which performs the error detection of the print data stored in the shift register 71 based on the print data stored in the shift register 71 and the print data output from the control unit 10 without passing through the cables 61 and 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
