PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate variations in the determination accuracy of an occupant and the like among vehicles by eliminating the variations in the sensitivity and zero-point of a capacitance sensor among the vehicles. SOLUTION: In a capacitive occupant detection apparatus having a capacitance sensor and an occupant detection ECU 11, two or more load circuits ScL, ScH, Sc3, and Sc4, each of which has a different measured value determined by a parallel circuit of an electric-current detecting resistor RS and a capacitor, instead of the capacitance sensor, are coupled with a sensor property measuring part 14 via switches SL, SH, S3, and S4. A measured value V1 generated at the electric-current detecting resistor RS, when an AC voltage signal is applied from a signal source VSG to a load circuit group ScL, Sc3, and Sc4 is read by a CPU 15. A second measured value V2 is read next, upon being applied to a load circuit group ScH, Sc3, and Sc4 whose load is higher than the load circuit group. Measured sensitivity is calculated by the CPU 15 by using the measured values V1 and V2. A sensitivity correction value is obtained from the measured sensitivity and an ideal sensitivity, and the sensitivity correction value is stored. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
