PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer with a cutter, securing safety when opening or closing an opening and closing lid having a movable blade attached thereto. SOLUTION: The roll paper printer 1 includes: a stationary blade 28 fixed to a printer body 2; and the movable blade 15 attached to a platen frame 21 of the opening and closing lid 5. The roll paper printer has an auto cutter 14 with the movable blade 15 attached to the open side of the opening and closing lid 5 with respect to the stationary blade 28; and a recording paper guide member 32 fixed to the printer body 2 and installed in a position adjacent to the open side of the opening and closing lid 5 from the movable blade 15. When the operation of opening the opening and closing lid 5 during movement of the movable blade 15 to a cutting start position 15C, the movable blade 15 protruded toward the stationary blade 28 and the recording paper guide member 32 interfere with each other. Consequently, the movement of the opening and closing lid 5 is restricted to prevent the opening and closing lid 5 from opening.
