PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm a residual quantity of a medium of a paper feeding cassette. SOLUTION: This image processing device lifts the placed medium up to a paper feeding means by lifting a stacking plate by an energizing means of releasing a lock mechanism, when installing the paper feeding cassette having the stacking plate for placing the medium, and includes a paper feeding cassette installation detecting means for detecting installation of the paper feeding cassette, a medium rise detecting means for detecting that the medium placed on the stacking plate rises up to the paper feeding means, a rising speed regulating means for regulating a rising speed of the stacking plate by the energizing means, a time measuring means for measuring time until the medium rise detecting means detects the rise of the medium after the paper feeding cassette installation detecting means detects the installation of the paper feeding cassette, and a control means for deriving a medium quantity in the paper feeding cassette based on the time measured by the time measuring means.
