PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating nut with which a support plate 6 holding a nut plate 2 can be produced from a metal plate in good yield, and which provides high supporting force of the nut plate 2 and a large floating range. SOLUTION: As the support plate 6, a developed state flat surface is formed into roughly rectangular shape. A pair of flat V-shape notches 3, 3 are formed in a longitudinal direction both end parts thereof. The outside of the notches 3 are turned back to a longitudinal direction center side to construct a pair of nut plate holding part 4.
