<p>An access point for communication with other Bluetooth devices operating within the access point operating area, the access point comprising a Bluetooth radio (transceiver), an antenna, and a host computer for controlling the operation of the access point, wherein the access point comprises a standalone radio unit (201 ) and a host computer unit (206) controlling the Bluetooth radio unit, arranged at a distance from each other, and connected to each other with a wired connection, and wherein the radio unit (201 ) is adapted to control the Bluetooth radio and the wired connection, so that the radio unit is adapted to receive data from the host computer unit, issue it to the Bluetooth radio and to receive data from the Bluetooth radio and issue it to the wired connection.</p> |
