<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element, easily improving response characteristics without using a large apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element includes steps of: forming a first alignment film 22 formed from a polymer compound having a crosslinkable functional group as a side chain on one of a pair of substrates 20, 30; forming a second alignment film 32 on the other of the pair of substrates 20, 30; arranging the pair of substrates 20, 30 so that the first alignment film 22 and second alignment film 32 face each other, and sealing a liquid crystal layer 40 containing liquid crystal molecules 41 with negative dielectric anisotropy between the first alignment film 22 and second alignment film 32; and pre-tilting the liquid crystal molecules 41 by crosslinking the polymer compound after sealing the liquid crystal layer 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
