<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate capable of improving utilization efficiency of light in an optical element such as a solar cell or a light-emitting element, and a manufacturing method of the glass substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The glass substrate includes a structure with periodical repeating projections and grooves in a length direction on at least one surface, and with a haze rate of wavelengths from 300 nm to 800 nm to be 30% or more.
