PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LOWER ALKENES WITH METHANOL OR DIMETHYL ETHER

Disclosed is a process for producing lower alkenes with methanol or dimethyl ether. In this process, the inner pores surface of fresh or regenerated catalyst is pre-coated with certain coke by a pre-treatment step to decrease the generation of alkanes and higher alkenes, thereby the selectivities of ethylene and propylene are increased. In the course of producing lower alkenes, methanol or dimethyl ether is catalyzed by the pre-treated catalyst to produce the lower alkenes, and higher yields of ethylene and propylene can be obtained by the process.
