The system has a printing block (1) with elongate, linear openings (2-5, 9-12) representing a part of a metallization pattern to be printed. The openings sectionally overlap other openings of another printing block. The former openings are arranged behind each other in an extension direction and have same lengths. Material webs (6, 7) formed between the former openings correspond to the lengths of the former openings. The openings produce sections of fingers and busbars of metallization, and supplementary sections of the fingers and the busbars, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for metallization of solar cells.
