PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sheet capable of improving luminance of white color to improve contrast and reducing electric power consumption and to provide an image display device provided with this optical sheet. SOLUTION: This optical sheet having a plurality of layers controlling entering light and emitting the controlled light onto an observer side includes an optical function sheet layer constituted by arranging prism parts formed to allow light transmission and light absorbing parts formed to absorb light alternately along a sheet surface, a basic material layer laminated on a face side on one side of the optical function sheet layer, and a light collection layer provided on the opposite side to the optical function sheet layer through the basic material layer.
